Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of webscrapingapi.dev ("the service"), including the API at api.webscrapingapi.dev, the dashboard, the board and this website. By creating an account, using an API key or posting on the board, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service is

The service fetches publicly reachable web pages on your request and returns them as HTML, text, Markdown or JSON, offers ready-made endpoints for certain sites, and hosts a board where users can ask for new endpoints. It is operated by Jaeyoung as a personal project. It is not affiliated with any of the sites it can read.

2. Free today, and what "free" means

• The service is currently free of charge, with limits: 50,000 credits per account per day, 60 requests per minute per key and 5 keys per account. Limits may be changed, raised or lowered at any time.
• Free access may be converted to a paid service, in whole or in part, at any time. If that happens, changes will be announced on this website before they take effect, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the new pricing. Nothing in these terms obliges the operator to keep any part of the service free.
• Credits are a usage measure, not money or property. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and may be reset or adjusted.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the service only for lawful purposes and only against content you are entitled to access. In particular, you agree that you will:

• comply with the terms, robots directives and rate expectations of every site you read through the service, and with the laws that apply to you, including copyright, database, privacy and computer-misuse laws;
• not use the service to reach private or internal networks, to overload or attack any site, to evade the service's quotas (for example by creating multiple accounts), or to collect personal data without a lawful basis;
• not use the service for spam, fraud, harassment, malware distribution or any activity that would expose the operator or third parties to harm;
• not resell the service or present its output as a competing hosted service without written permission;
• keep your API keys secret. Every request made with a key is treated as made by you.

The service does not solve CAPTCHAs, bypass dedicated anti-bot systems or sign in to any site. Requests that would require that are refused or fail, and you must not attempt to work around it.

4. Your data and your responsibility

• Whatever you retrieve through the service is retrieved on your behalf and at your direction. You are solely responsible for how you obtain, store and use it, and for any claim by a site or a third party that arises from it.
• The operator claims no ownership of the content you retrieve. Parsed results from the site endpoints may be stored and served to other users of the service; they are derived from public pages and contain no data about you.
• You will defend and hold the operator harmless from any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

5. The board

Posts and comments you publish on the board are public unless marked private. By posting, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store and, for private requests, summarise them in anonymised form. You must not post content you do not have the right to share, personal data of others, or anything unlawful. Posts may be edited or removed at the operator's discretion.

6. Availability, changes and third-party sites

The service is provided as is and as available. There is no guarantee of uptime, response time, accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose. Site-specific endpoints depend on third-party page layouts and on those sites allowing access; they may stop working at any time without notice. Features, endpoints, limits and these terms may change at any time; the "last updated" date above marks changes.

7. Accounts, suspension and termination

• You must be at least 14 years old to use the service.
• Keys or accounts that breach these terms, threaten the service or its cost limits, or appear abusive may be rate-limited, suspended or deleted without prior notice.
• You may stop using the service at any time by revoking your keys and signing out. To delete your account and its data, see the privacy policy.
• Accounts with no activity for twelve months may be removed.

8. No warranty, no liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, and the operator is not liable to you or to any third party for any damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the service or your inability to use it. This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits or business, damages caused by errors or omissions in retrieved data, by interruptions, by changes to or discontinuation of the service, or by actions taken by third-party sites in response to your use. Where a limitation of liability is not permitted by law, the operator's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is zero.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute that cannot be settled by discussion is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court for the operator's place of residence in the Republic of Korea, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to another forum.

10. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and the operator about the service.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms: the board. Notices about abuse or infringement should include the URLs involved and enough detail to act on; the operator responds within 14 days.
